Countdown for my first Pitmaster School

After six years of DIY practice, I have signed up for the Pitmaster School on May. ArcticBBQ goes next level!

I found Pitmaster School by accident while searching for low and slow articles. Registration had started already six weeks earlier, but I was in good time to roll in.

American style BBQ is not yet widely known in Finland.  Pitmaster School is the pioneer in low and slow BBQ courses in Finland and held the first course of this kind in 2014. Pitmaster School has been held annually now and offers several different courses throughout the year.

The May event is told to be hands on and focusing on low and slow method. This I am looking forward to learning as my experience is still somewhat limited. There should be at least Pulled Pork, Brisket, Jerk Chicken, Mangalitza and bacon in the menu.

I am especially excited about the featured teachers. The organizer and head Pitmaster Chris Paton is experienced in American style BBQ and special guest Smoking Finns is the first internationally recognized BBQ competition team in Finland. Smoking Finns are team of two guys, who both are certified BBQ competition judges by Kansas City Barbeque Society. Yet, being in BBQ world for a short period of time, they have achieved number of good positions in various competitions within Europe.

I think this event will be my kick start to become a Pitmaster, so stay tuned for the updates!

Greetings from Los angeles! I’m bored to death at work so I decided to browse your website on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the information you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m surprised at how quick your blog loaded on my phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, amazing blog!

Thank you for your kind feedback. For both, technical and content. It is nice to hear blog downloads quickly in LA, given that distance to the server is 6000miles. I am glad to hear you like my blog. I am about to participate a BBQ Camp in Finland this weekend and learn some American BBQ techniques. Stay tuned for the story and feel free to share with your friends!
